March Already!!!

Well can not believe that it is March already. What a start to the year Queensland has had and we here were in the thick of it with Cyclone Yasi. So no power for 9 days and telephones there one minute and gone the next. So the month of February will be one to remember but passed in what we all seemed to be in a daze.We went through the eye of it here and have not got a fence left standing. Well now we have it is week 5 now and finally the boundary is nearly all up then we will start with the internal fences. Then the cattle yards needs lots of work done then we can go out and try to find some cattle. But the good lord looked down on us and we are all safe and the house was spared so we have alot to be thankful off.I would like to thank the Blogging family out there that sent emails to check on how we all were. Thank you for caring it made me feel good to no that i have great crafty friends out there in Blog Land.

On a happier note i have joined Cathy in a Fat Quarter Swap and our first swap is this month. I do the FQ Swap over at the Craft Forum and enjoy them alot and have made a lot of craft friends. So i no that i am going to enjoy this one as i say you can not have too much fabric in the cupboard. So if you are interested hope on over to the Fat Quarter Swap and join us i no you will have a great time.Well that is me for the moment hope that everyone has a great weekend and the ladies down in Brisbane having a cuppa and a great laugh with the Gum Tree Designers. I hope that you have a great time i wish that i was there with you all it would be just great.

Jumping in Feet First

Well ladies i am jumping in feet first. This year i want to do some wonderful sewing and learn how to bind and do some more stitching. So on my morning Blog hop seeing what everyone is up to, Jenny of ELEFANTZ has put up her first BOM for the year.

Jenny has inspired me over the 1 1/2 years that i have found the crafting world and she was the first swap that i joined and it was a mug rug and mat and i loved every minute of making it and to swap with Joy was great too. You can go back to see my first stitching and see the wonderful Mug Rug and mat that i received from Joy.So i am jumping in Feet First as they say and doing this great BOM and the name of it means a lot to me as i give thanks each day for my beautiful family and our health and love that we share.

So i am spreading the word that you should go over and have a look at this beautiful work that Jenny is sharing with us and join in. I feel that at the end of this we are going to have a great wall hanging to be thankful off.

Well will be back soon to show you what i received for Christmas from my family. And i have to go and get my materials ready for this beautiful BOM.

Well what are you waiting for go on get going over to Jenny's shooo shooo. Just click on the button over on my side bar and it will take you straight there.

Well i have been busy with my crochet hook and i am hooked on making these wonderful little puddings.I have to date made 18 and have some more to make as little thank you Christmas gifts as i think they are lovely. I recieved the pattern from a wonderful lady that i am with on the craft forum with. I have made some wonderful friends through the craft forum and on blogger that i am so thank full of.

I have been busy doing other things as well with the crochet hook and knitting needles so will be able to show you soon. I am hoping to make most of my Christmas gifts this year for the laddies of the family and the men of the family will be getting home made goodies.

We have finished school for the year and the last assignment that had to go in was the cooking and DS2 had to do sweets so when we took the photo of the finished product i added the little puddings as decoration. What do you all think i think that it looks great. Am so glad no school to think about now for 8 glorious weeks then we start year 10.Well will be back soon with another post i promise.

Well i was blog hopping and was over at Wendy B of Sugarlane Quilts and she has some lovely photo's of her garden. So i thought that i would go out in my very neglected garden because of the building and have a look at what was out. And my Beautiful hibiscus is out in bloom and just looking wonderful here take a look.
With the wonderful rain we have been having it is full and looking lovely.

Hope you all have a great day.

Sewing Room

Morning everybody and what a wonderful Sunday it is here in Far North Queensland. As promised i have some photo's of the building of our new outdoor area and my sewing room come school room, Office and boys space.

If any of you have built and lived on site you will understand when i say that i will not ever build again i am over it. But the results are just amazing. We sit now with a cuppa and say to each other how did we do without it for so long.
This is first day and what the front of the house looked like.
Going up!After all brick work was done and roof on well in went the windows.
Then the flooring.
Then the painting started as I was not moving anything in until that was done. We ended up getting Blinds for the windows as the afternoon sun comes through these windows.
Filler done, time for the top coat and i just love my creams and it makes the room so light and clean and we put the normal white ceilings.
With the room painted i moved in it is a mess and i have alot to sort out but will be able to sew now and not have to pack up at the end of the day. And now i can start to put my stamp on my room.
Photo is not a good one. When I am sorted out will take more photo's. I am finding things that i have had packed away in plastic containers that i have forgotten that i had.

This is the other end of the extension and we are just living out here. I had 11 people last weekend out here mustering and we were able to all sit around the table to eat and have a good laugh at the end of the day.
As you can see we still have some painting to do but will have it all done for Christmas. With the lovely rain that we have been having up here you can see that the grass is starting to come through. I can not wait to be able to hang Christmas lights and share a meal on the day with my family around the big table.

Well hope that you have enjoyed seeing what I have been up to over the last 5 months and I hope to now be able to sit and sew to my hearts content while teaching year 9 school.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday
